“Embrace your dark nature” this is a message that’s becoming more and more popular in the manosphere. But those who preach it never tell you how to embrace it. Or whether it is good or bad to do so. Let’s be real, If you don’t know what your dark nature is, how can you tap into it let alone embrace it with every cell of your being? If you don’t know what your dark nature is, how can you know if embracing it will make your life better or worse?
First, to unearth your dark self you must make use of the lens of introspection with the truth as your source of light. To put it simply, to know what your dark nature is, you have to look inward and pay attention to your thoughts, the dark ones to be precise. Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. Pay attention to your inclinations. Pay attention to your NEEDS and DESIRES. Pay attention to your dark tendencies and be brutally honest with yourself.
Second, after you have identified what your dark nature is, look for the advantages and the disadvantages. If the advantages are more than the disadvantages then you should embrace it but not to the fullest because I believe that your dark nature is something you should never fully embrace because it could be your ruin. Well, It is called dark for a reason. And if the disadvantages are more than the advantages, you should seldom make use of it. If it has no advantages whatsoever, never embrace it, you are better off without it.
For instance, my dark nature is that I genuinely don’t give a shit about people. My concern lies in my business alone. To put it bluntly, I don’t give a fuck. I love being alone. I love being left alone. This is a source of strength, my blessing and it happens to be my curse; because embracing it fully is unhealthy especially for someone like me who wants to improve every area of his life—My social life will suffer terribly.
