The Cost Of Hatred

The Cost of Hatred.

It takes a lot of energy and time to hate someone.

This is why you shouldn’t hate anyone. I’m not saying this because it’s “bad” to hate. It’s simply a waste of your time and energy. The time and energy that could be used to chase more meaningful pursuits, you want to spend it on hating someone, someone that doesn’t give a shit about you.

Anytime you see that person winning, you feel envious and disgusted. Anytime you see people praising him, you are replete with ire. Anytime you see him laughing, you pray to God to get rid of his source of happiness. This is a cycle of misery you should never plunge yourself into—indeed this is the painful and expensive cost of hatred.

In contrast, anytime you see that person losing, you are happy. Anytime you see him sad, you rejoice. Anytime you see calamity befall him, it makes you feel as if you have hit the lottery.

This just proves that you are a terrible human being who deserves to be thrown into the very depths of hell.

In brief, hatred is a burden. It’s insidious. It’s misery. It’s cancer, cancer of the soul, cancer of the flesh, it eats up your soul slowly as well as your very flesh.

You can’t live long if you are riddled with hatred for your fellow man.
