The Most Effective Way To Deal with Haters

As a man, who is obsessed with improving himself, your life will never be short of haters. Haters are simply instruments of the devil, crafted to be an impediment to your progress in life. This is why it’s paramount to learn to deal with them when they rear their ugly heads so you won’t give up on your dreams due to their criticisms. They will hurt you with their words and you must also learn to hurt them back.

Who is a hater?

A hater is someone who attacks you (often verbally) or insults you with the primary aim to demoralize and discourage you from going after your dreams. Haters will say things like “you can never be good enough” “you lack the talent” or “you can never make it”. Or they will treat you like you are complete shit just because you want to become a better man.

Characteristics of a hater

• A hater typically spews out nothing but hate towards you when you are trying to improve the quality of your life and others. They will attack you for trying to do something different, something new, something unheard of. 

• Haters will rarely criticise you with logic. Never expect constructive criticisms from them. They won’t tell you what you need to improve and how. They will simply pelt you with insults and disrespect without any justification. Most times, it is as a result of envy or a projection of how shitty their lives are. 

• Haters come in different shapes and sizes. Sometimes they are your superiors. Sometimes your equal. Sometimes inferior. Sometimes kin. In other words, anyone can be your hater. 

How to deal with haters:

I have been a hater before when I didn’t know any better and from experience, the most devastating blow to your haters is to use their negative criticisms as fuel to become successful (or to become better at your craft) and live your life like they don’t exist— It is a deadly combo. 

You know they hate you and they lust after your failure but you act like their existence means nought to you. This hurts them deeply more than your success or achievements. When you happen to be around them, don’t even show it that they are your haters. Smile around them and be polite. Never give them the satisfaction of rattling you because they are clowns. And what are clowns useful for? They are slaves for your amusement. You should never be the one entertaining your haters by showing them that you are hurt by their words. Your haters get great joy from seeing you angry, sad and miserable. They never want to see you happy—this is why you should never give them the joy of your sadness. Because you are their master—act like one!

Furthermore, try as much as possible not to get close to your haters at all. Don’t share anything meaningful about your life around them. And it’s even better if you don’t know anything about them either. It’s paradoxical in that no matter how much you try to keep your life private your haters will still know a lot about you, much more than you think. Analogous to being in love with someone or something, hate makes you obsessed with the object or being you loathe. Your haters are your biggest latent supporters after all. 

Haters as a result of their antipathy have condemned their lives to sorrow of their own volition. Instead of hating them or disliking them or talking ill of them, help them make their lives even more miserable by not acknowledging their very existence. Simply put, be indifferent. Never acknowledge that you notice them. And this means you neither love them nor hate them. It means you don’t waste any second of your time or any calorie of your energy on them for they matter not.

Why should you be indifferent towards your haters even though they wish you harm?

The reason is quite simple. Showing resentment towards your haters is a sumptuous recipe for your ruin. By showing hate towards your haters you motivate them not only to wish you harm but to also have the justification to do you harm. You gain nothing but misery out of showing hate towards them especially when your haters are superior to you. Not to mention, when you patently show resentment towards your haters, they easily get more proof that makes you look like the bad guy, making it easier to convince and recruit more clowns into their circus of woe.
