A man’s character needs to be as shapeless as water. Just like water is able to fill and adapt its shape to fill or imitate any container, a man must be able to change his character to adapt to any environment or situation he might find himself in. There are times a man needs to be stoic. There are times he needs to act like an introvert. There are times he needs to act like an extrovert. There are times he needs to act talkative. There are times he needs to act like a simp. There are times he needs to act like a fool. There are times he needs to act with discretion. There are times he needs to act with wisdom. There are times he needs to act like a beggar and dress like one though he might be rich.
A man must be like an actor; in fact he must be a good one in that he must never have a rigid character. His character must be flexible like rubber choosing the role that fits the situation and circumstance best. Nobody should be able to understand him completely. Nobody should be able to grasp his vast self. Nobody should know his next move. He must be amorphous in character. This is because of those who are desperate and hungry for his downfall. He must be unpredictable to them otherwise he will always fall into their trap.
This, however, doesn’t mean he stops being authentic for a chameleon remains a chameleon even though it changes the color of its skin. Water remains water even though it moves from one state of matter to the other. Likewise, a man must remain true to himself even though he camouflages to fit into any situation or environment he might be in. Indeed, he must never lose himself to any character he is forced to play.
You need to understand that It’s not the strongest of men that survive. Nor is it the richest. Nor the most intelligent. Nor the most confident. Nor the most Alpha. Those who survive are the ones who are able to adapt with finesse.
